The Statue of liberty disappeared within minutes leaving no debris on ground Zero. Not a nightmarish repeat of 9/11, but “innocent entertainment” as jadugar Anand would like to call his art.
In one of his most amazing tricks at the inaugural session of the magic carnival at Town Hall on Friday, the magician waved his wand and the replica of the historic monument kept on the stage faded away behind an unfolding curtain. The initial few seconds of pregnant silence were broken by the rising applause the audience gave to the middle aged magician, who first learnt magic at the age of seven. The magician didn’t spare minister for health R Ashok, who was the chief guest on the Ocassion. Anand waved his hand over an empty box and out came a garland with which he welcomed the minister.
